One of the main reasons that Houston was able to take so much territory, was due to the promise of purified water. However, the pipes running throughout the land have been in such a state of disrepair the pipes no longer work.

Behind the scenes

  • After the release of 3.0, the Houston Rockets tree was cut in the 3.3.14 patch due to the finished result not being up to the standards that the content designer of that tree had wanted.
  • The Houston Rockets background referenced the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), however, in the Fallout series, NASA is only mentioned in Fallout 2, with the United States Space Administration (USSA) having taken their place throughout the rest of the games.
  • The Houston Rockets were loosely based off the Bloomfield Space Center, a location that was to be featured in Van Buren.[2] The location featured raiders who did not know or understand the technology they had access to, similar to the depiction of the Houston Rockets.[3]
