The Bloomfield Space Center somehow always ended up as an unwanted child. The pre-war government had grand plans with it, but they had to mothball it, as they diverted money for other means. The Enclave sized it not long before the bombs fell, and they had to evacuate from the site before the spaceship HERMES-XIII would take off. The Brotherhood of Steel always wanted to put their powered hands on it, but no Arizonan Expedition got sent over the Colorado river due to their infightings. The facility ended up in the hands of simple raiders who could only utilize it partially.

What a terrifying thought it is in itself.
