Hoover Dam is one of the key points in between NCR and The Legion both for its natural riches and being one of the few routes over the river.

Resources

The Hoover Dam produces atl least a little bit of every resource in game.

Base production

  • 120 water
  • 20 electricity (the dam starts with one turbine runing)
  • 12 scrap
  • 8 circuitry
  • 4 composites
  • 4 advanced components

After all the decisions are completed the dam will output 300 energy.

All of these resources then can be doubled at max infrastructure.

Upgrading the dam

Focuses

The three nations on the west side of the dam have at least one focus that increases power production of the dam.

  • Mojave teritories
    • Repair second turbine (+20 energy)
    • Use the tools left behind (+40 energy)
  • Mojave chapter
    • Neck of the colorado (+20 energy)
    • Fortyfying the dam (+20 energy)
  • New Vegas
    • Control of the dam (+20 energy)

All of these focuses repair a turbine, they do not add aditional resources thus not increasing the ammount of maximum production. (probably, will test later)

Decision

Template:Infobox locationAny nation ocupying the dam and having at least Settler/Civilised exploitation tech level can use this decision to increase the dam's power output.

  • Repair the next turbine
    • Costs 0,8 k BC/NCRD
    • For 100 days 4% consumer goods factories
    • After 100 days +20 electricity production in Hoover Dam
    • Repeatable until 15 turbines are in operation

The Dam is the second richest state in terms of producing water (1. Paradise(transfered),3.Paradise(not transfered))

Fully upgraded the dam is the richest state in terms of electricity produced (2. Paradise(transfered),3.Helios One (fully upgraded), 4.Tlalock's lair)

Trivia

The Mohajave Teritories focus tree speaks of 17 turbines under the Dam. It however seems to be possible to repair only 15. (mabye if you leave the Mojave Teritories focus that adds 2 turbines and can be worked around until after you have fixed all 14 decision-fixable turbines you would get the remaining 2 out of the 17. Something similar might be possibel with Mr. Houses' focus that repairs one turbine or Mojave chapter's focuses that do a similar thing). (WIP will test later)
