New Victoria

New Victoria is a Settler nation based on Vancouver Island and controlling the nearby San Juan Islands. The island kingdom is a hereditary monarchy inspired by the pre-war United Kingdom. However, the ruling family lacks any ties to the Windsor dynasty. The rulers of New Victoria are traditionally female, with queens taking the name Victoria to honor their nation and ancestors.

The ruling dynasty traces its ancestry to a local Canadian political family. As such, the nation views itself as the heir to the Canadian government, and its rulers dream of their eventual reconquest of the mainland. New Victoria can from Cascadia by conquering all cores of the Broken Coast. Doing so grants cores on the Broken Coast, Bellingham, the Haida Confederation, Whistler, Kamlo, and the Syilx Nation.

Only a narrow channel separates New Victoria from the Broken Coast to the east. Its other nearest neighbors are Bellingham, the Olympus Tribe, and the Washington Brotherhood to the southeast, and the Haida Confederation to the north. Despite its proximity to the Broken Coast, New Victoria remains relativity secure thanks to its powerful navy.

New Victoria is notable for having access to Advanced Naval and Air Technology. This can likely be attributed to the presence of pre-war Canadian military facilities on Vancouver Island. Specifically, New Victoria controls the CFB Comox airbase and CFB Esquimalt naval base. Both can be restored through decisions. This technological advantage can allow New Victoria to punch well above its weight in the mid to late game. However, it is offset by the nation's relatively low manpower and limited industrial capacity. New Victoria also lacks the ability to develop any form of robotics or power armor.
