Tierra de los Tzotzil is a religious group in the Mexican region.

Historical background

Standing between the titans of Nueva Aztlán and the Itzan Empire, the Mayan peoples of Chiapas have formed their own nation as a fragment of the Itzan Empire. The two split on religious grounds, and a strong separatist sentiment remains widespread, partly inspired by Sajal Tobias Rey II’s decades of success in holding off both Itzan and Aztlan invading forces. Now that Itzan-Aztlan relations are detreating once more, however, it seems the people of Tzotzil may have to pick a side – or else be forced into one…

National spirits

Tierra de los Tzotzil starts with two national spirits:

Survivors of the Titans
  • War Support: +5.00%
  • Outpost construction speed: +5.00%
  • (Flag of Nueva Aztlán Nueva Aztlán) Defense bonus against country: +10.0%
  • (Flag of Chichen Itza The Chichen Itzan Empire) Defense bonus against country: +10.0%
During the two hundred of [TDT.GetNameDef]'s existence, we have been invaded countless times by the two Titans of Mesoamerica, Chichen Itza and Nueva Aztlán. As a result, we have learnt our enemies weaknesses, and our own strengths.

  • Non-core Manpower: +1.00%
  • Stability: +5.00%
As a result of our origins as a religious splinter group of the Chichen Itza, freedom of religion has always been a valued part of life in Tierra de los Tzotzil. Whilst it helps keep our country stable and helps us to appeal to minority groups in our country, differing groups have differing opinions on our policies...

National focus

The Tierra de los Tzotzil national focus tree can be divided into 7 branches and one sub-branch:

Heart of Hearts Branch
This branch allows Tierra de los Tzotzil to determine its history, from its defense against American imperialism to its current state as a buffer between the more powerful Nueva Aztlán and Chichen Itzan empires through resulting events, eventually unlocking the other branches of the nation.
  • Cleaning the Forests Branch
The landscape-shifting branch of Tierra de los Tzotzil, determining if the nation focuses on guerrilla production and resistance, caring and providing for their own population, or growing the southern economy to be as strong as the north.
  • Defend the Peace Branch
The defense and militarization branch, allowing Tierra de los Tzotzil to stand as a formidable foe against their larger neighbors, allowing them to maintain their freedom.
  • We Need Guns! Branch
The weaponry and industry technology branch, culminating in Tierra de los Tzotzil obtaining basic ballistic weapons, and a choice between basic energy weaponry or common ballistic weapons.
  • The Shrewd Fox Branch
The Tierra de los Tzotzil freedom branch, resulting in Rey remaining the nation's leader against the neighboring empires.
  • The Loyal Servant Branch
The Tierra de los Tzotzil subjugation branch. Involves Vela becoming the leader, and having the nation work with the Itzan empire.
    • Itza in Flames Sub-branch
The independence branch of Tierra de los Tzotzil, improving on stability, war support, and doctrines should Itza fall into a civil war.
  • Life Under New Masters Branch
The branch resulting from Tierra de los Tzotzil becoming a subject of Nueva Aztlán.
