Strasbourg's Sparkblades are a releasable raider nation in The Great North. They can be released with the states Strasbourg, Humboldt, and Imperial, which are core states of Durdun at the game's start. Additionally if Daniel of Wadena is the leader of Stoon, they can be released through the focus Legacy of the Sparkblades where their name is changed to Strasbourg's Knightblades.

Historical background

Before the Great War, the ancestors of the Sparkblades were a professional hockey team in Calgary.[1] Like many Canadians they resisted the American annexation of their country, stealing several suits of power armor from the US military before joining up with the Canadian People's Front. When the Front fractured some time later they followed the People's Front of Canada splinter group and joined them in forming the Bloody Electorals.[2] They settled down in the pre-War town of Strasbourg, changed their name to Strasbourg's Sparkblades and served as the muscle of the Electorate the in the post-apocalypse. At some point they were hired to fight the Kingdom of Manitoba, taking Wadena for the Electorate.[3][4]

Following a Dundurn victory in the Election, a warband would be mobilized to soothe the more adventurous Electorate. But Pierre made it clear that any mobilzationIn-game spelling would be seen as a forfeit of Electoral position.

Whether they did it for fame, profit, or just fun is up to each to decide for themselves. But with the recent ascension of Lugnut the Smashers have a new outlook, survival. Because they have been on the frontline of most every engagement in the Electorals they know firsthand just how precarious their traditions and society are, and they'll crush Heaven and Earth before they see themselves subject to anyone else's will.
