Historical background

The Show Must Go On! So the Director says, day in and day out, and so it does. We play our parts and never question why or for how long we must play. Who knows what would happen should we do so.

But… what if?

Behind the scenes

  • TV Town was created by Zusk,[1] based on the cut location of the same name from Fallout 2.
  • TV Town's primary sources of inspiration were the 1976 American science fiction film Logan's Run and the 1973 Japanese adult animated art film Belladonna of Sadness, with "spice" from the 1998 American psychological science fiction dramedy film The Truman Show and the 2021 American Marvel Comics television miniseries WandaVision.[2]
    • When writing TV Town's lore, Zusk especially focused on selecting period-appropriate science fiction media, specifically media that could concievably have influenced the original Interplay Fallout developers in 1997-1998.[3]

  2. Is TV town inspired by American Arcadia?
Zusk: "its inspired by Logan's Run, Belladonna of Sadnness with spice from the Truman Show & Wandavision
Today was the first anyone ever heard of American Arcadia
which, looking at it, really feels like TV-Town and American Arcadia share some of the same sources.
Arcadia looks like a really neat project! Definitely check them out "

  3. Zusk: "When I was writing TV-Town's lore, I made it a point to specifically chose period appropriate science fiction to lean on thematically. ( Period = Could have feasibly influenced the original fallout team in 1997/98 )"
