The Claim Jumpers are one of the two remnants of factions kicked out of the Pre-War city of Denver, now residing in Southwestern Colorado.

It is in the nature of raiders to band together into rapidly moving groups to easier ambush caravans and avoid the would be pursuers, it is also in their nature to fight in between themselves for the position of the leader. As such with the increasing size of the group it becomes harder and harder to keep the raiders focused and united.

Historical background

The Claim Jumpers are made up of former residents of Denver, having been kicked out by the Hangdogs. During their time in Denver, their name referred to their nature of ignoring claims made by other groups, and jumping from claim to claim to salvage from.[1]

Starting Position

Claim Jumpers starts in West Colorado, between Black Canyon to the north, Hangdogs to the east, and Foragers to the south-west.

Behind the Scenes

  • The Claim Jumpers are partially based on the Salvagers faction that was to be featured in the cancelled Fallout game Van Buren.
    • Differing from Van Buren, Bombay Jack is the leader of the Claim Jumpers, having either survived or avoided the events he was to undergo in Van Buren, in which he was a former NCR prisoner escapee who seized a claim near an NCR railway, or attacked The Prisoner during their investigation of The Box.
