The Texan Brotherhood is a chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel active in the state of Texas.

Historical background

Descended from the heroes who came east to fight Attis' super-mutant army, the Texan Brotherhood are the rough riders who the other Brotherhoods do not invite to dinner. Standing up for truth, justice, and the Texan way, they have kept their new home safe for decades. So safe that they never lack eager recruits, ready to defend their homes. A Brotherhood in transition towards something greater, a nation that might shake the very foundations of the wasteland. But new threats, from the west and south, might impede their path towards progress. There are also those within the Brotherhood who think the Chapter has fallen too far from its original role, and prepare to make their new stand at the Alamo. A desperate stand against the robot menace of Mexico and their former brothers.
- Scenarios country selection screen quote

Founded by Elder Rhombus,[1] the Texan Brotherhood is a Brotherhood of Steel chapter created from a desire to crush Attis and his army once and for all. In 2275, the Texan Brotherhood look and act with a similar, yet different, disposition as compared to their sister chapters out west. Civilized, peaceful, and just. In addition, they seek moral victories over material, a direction some among their ranks find fault with.[2]

Edward J. Rusk Ruler Ruler Yes 65.00% Yes Longstanding Elder of the Texan Brotherhood, Rusk is a formidable opponent for any of Texas' remaining raider scum. Stoic, steady, and always ready with a cigar perched on his lips, he's been clearing a path for the Brotherhood for decades. His greying hair is a sign of his age; he was alive when the Texan Economic Union was formed, being its main proponent on the Brotherhood's side of things. Charismatic and well-liked by the troops for his vices and good company, he can often be found drinking bourbon with the troops. He wears a ten-gallon hat and sports a custom break-action double shotgun, made specifically to use ECPs as ammunition in place of the more traditional slugs. His rather terrifying weapon was manufactured to deal with even the toughest super mutants Texas can offer, and its firepower speaks to that. Behind the scenes

  • Garnithor coded the Texan Brotherhood.[3] They also created Edward Jefferson Rusk and Sidney McDonald. However, the latter was cut due to time constraints,[4] and was to serve as a reformist to contrast Rusk's traditionalist nature.[5]
  • The Texan Brotherhood, as of 4.0, will be the only nation to have an option to serve as the main opponent to the Lost Hills Brotherhood, due to their founding and High Elder Rhombus' opinions on the Elder Council by 2208.[6]

Instead he is a new face! Once a lowly engineer in the armies of Attis, Juggernaut earned his fame by being one of the only super mutants to survive an encounter with the Elder Rhombus, founder and hero of the Texan Brotherhood. Since that point, Juggernaut has tried to forge the armies of Attis back together the only way he knows how, with steel and screaming machines. His warband may be small, but their warmachines and steel armor, brought forth from their great foundries, are legend across Texas and give even the mighty Texan Brotherhood pause."
