A faction is a coalition of nations that are allied to each other.

Rules

It is impossible to create a faction manualy in this mod, all factions not already present at the start of the game must be created through focuses.

Factions in 2275

Major Factions

NCR

While the NCR is a powerful faction, in 2275 it's power comes mainly from the size, and power of the New California Republic and the strategic location of the Mojave Territories which controls The Dam as well as encircles the entirety of the Mojave Chapter. Despite their apparent initial strength, the Flag of New California Republic New California Republic is initially plagued by crises that limit it's ability to expand, except for expansion into Flag of the Rapids the Rapids, Flag of the Divide the Divide, Flag of Paz Bandits Paz Bandits, and Flag of Valle Bandits Valle Bandits.

Initial Members:

Through the course of gameplay, other nations may join the NCR. Under default AI behavior, these often include Flag of New Reno New Reno, Flag of Shi Shi, and Flag of Arroyo Arroyo.

Potential Members:

Ultimately, the NCR will go to war with the other great power of the Mojave, Caesar's Legion.

Caesar's Legion/The Legion

The Legion is a faction named after the great unifier himself. While all it's constituents occupy inhospitable deserts and mountains it has ample room to grow towards the West and many a strong potential ally in the South (South East) and North (North East) with its Eastern Flank protected by a couple of minors and the Colorado river.

Through the course of gameplay, other nations may join the Legion. Under default AI behavior, these often include Flag of Gente Del Sol Gente Del Sol and Flag of White Legs White Legs.

Texas Economic Union

Texas Economic union is a faction built upon the cooperation of Flag of Lone Star Lone Star and the Flag of Texan Brotherhood Texan Brotherhood, with the ultimate goal of building a Republic of Texas. This strong position is precarious however. Quickly, Flag of Lone Star Lone Star will face a civil war led by the Hand Warband that can destroy the dream of Texas before it truly begins and Flag of Texan Brotherhood Texan Brotherhood will be split by dissenters from the Flag of Alamo Chapter Alamo Chapter.

Initial Members:

Through focuses and events, an AI Flag of Tubeheads Tubeheads will join the Texas Economic Union as a puppet of Flag of Texan Brotherhood Texan Brotherhood if the TEU survives initial struggles. There is a chance for other Flag of Texan Brotherhood Texan Brotherhood expansion targets to join the TEU as well.

Great Plains Federation

The Great Plains federation is a federation of Native nations: Flag of Chickasaw-Muscogee Coalition Chickasaw-Muscogee Coalition, Flag of Cherokee Nation Cherokee Nation, and Flag of Choctaw Nation Choctaw Nation. It's only a few years from complete federalization under central government as the State of Sequoyah, if it can deal with the threat posed by Flag of The Last Patrol The Last Patrol, who imagine a new Oklahoma instead.

The Order of St. Joseph is a faction that consists of Flag of The Order The Order and its defacto puppet, the Flag of Belden Area Authority Belden Area Authority.

Bloodied Electorals

Faction consisting of Flag of Pleasantdale Pleasantdale, Flag of Stoon Dandies Stoon Dandies, and Flag of Dundurn Dundurn. Under most circumstances this faction will devolve into a civil war with only one survivor.


Rio Pact

A faction consisting initially of Flag of Republic of the Rio Grande Republic of the Rio Grande and its puppet Flag of Texan Arms Association Texan Arms Association.

Minor factions are not factions composed of minor nations, it is a term describing Factions made up of only one nation (at least in 2275).

Children of the Gate

The Children of the Gate are a religious group led by Flag of Heaven's Gate Heaven's Gate.

Western Brotherhood of Steel

The Western Brotherhood of Steel is led by the Flag of Lost Hills Lost Hills Chapter. Although initially small and surrounded by the NCR, the Brotherhood can expand across the map, (eventually) able to invite most of the existing Brotherhood chapters and then some.

Led by the Flag of Washington Brotherhood Washington Brotherhood. With few friends and many enemies, The Immortal may be replaced and the Northern League placed under new management.

The Mormon Alliance is led by Flag of New Canaan New Canaan. Under default AI behavior, the Flag of Sorrows Sorrows and the Flag of Dead Horses Dead Horses join Flag of New Canaan New Canaan-in-Exile under Daniel.

The Daughters of Hecate are led by Flag of Ouroboros Ouroboros. May begin inviting nations after completing the "Conclave of Midnight" focus and then the "forging the Colorado River Compact" focus.

Many nations in Old World Blues can form factions, either through their focus tree or by event. In some cases, where multiple nations can form the same faction they instead can join that faction.

Formable by Flag of Arroyo Arroyo if the Chosen One has Bad Karma.

Formable through the actions of the Flag of New California Republic New California Republic. If they are unable to survive the various initial crises and breakout into Civil War, the Flag of Baron's Republic Baron's Republic will form this faction when they break away.

Formable by the Flag of Hangdogs Hangdogs. When they open the Box and start the civil war with Flag of Warden Warden, the player has the option to side with Flag of Warden Warden. If Flag of Warden Warden is victorious, it can then solidify its control over Colorado and form the Denver Defense Network.

Also formable by Flag of Chichen Itza Chichen Itza through the focus "A Great Wedding", where they will seek to ally Flag of Nueva Aztlán Nueva Aztlán. Whichever forms the Mesoamerican Alliance first will be the leader.

This represents the Khans attempting to reconcile with their old reputation and become allies with other friendly, often People led nations. The Northern Khans gain access to a number of Focuses that give buffs to all Faction members.

A diverse faction made up of various powers in Nevada, seeking to remain independent of the NCR but not necessarily as an enemy. Whoever forms the faction first becomes it's leader, with others then able to join through their focus tree or decision.

Formable by Flag of The Old Country The Old Country if they defeat the Northern Brotherhood, complete the "Liberty from Terror" focus, and then complete the "Siding with Liam" focus. Can also be formed by Flag of Passkeepers Passkeepers if they complete the focus "Commitment to Cooperation".

Nova Legion

Formable by Flag of Lanius's Cohort Lanius's Cohort with cooperation from the Flag of Twin Mothers Twin Mothers. When Lanius first comes into contact with the Flag of Twin Mothers Twin Mothers, Diana has the opportunity to attempt to sway Lanius. If she succeeds, Lanius will revolt and leave Caesar's Legion and form the Nova Legion with the Flag of Twin Mothers Twin Mothers.

The Road Warriors

A faction formable by the Flag of Eighties Eighties. When the Flag of Eighties Eighties split, the Flag of Thunderbirds Thunderbirds, seeking a Second Nevada Road War, will form the Road Warriors faction.

The Second Coalition

Formable by the Flag of Republic of Three Rivers Republic of Three Rivers. The Flag of Republic of Three Rivers Republic of Three Rivers has the ultimate goal of toppling the Flag of Kingdom of Manitoba Kingdom of Manitoba. A coalition to fight the kingdom is always an option, but is the only one if the Flag of Riding Mountain Mooseketeers Riding Mountain Mooseketeers rebellion fails.

A faction that can be formed by the Flag of The Old Country The Old Country if they take the "Operation: Ascension" focus and form the Wardens of the White.
